Below the lowest maintenance level, past the last door the megacity bothers to lock, the stone begins. Arches older than the grid above them, columns bundled with cable where vines used to climb. Violet light comes up from the floor channels, and it is not decorative. It is load. The Undercroft is the temple-circuit of the Ritual Network: the place where the old ceremonies were not abandoned when the city was built on top of them, but rewired.
Steps echo on wet flagstone. Processed chants roll through the vaults on a loop nobody schedules. Every server rack down here sits where an altar sat, and does the altar's job: it holds what the people above have forgotten and keeps it warm. The feed from these cameras goes nowhere the Architecture can read. The Undercroft records itself, for itself, the way a liturgy does.
The Ritual Network's claim has never been territory. It is continuity: the ancient encoded into the digital, ceremonies running as network protocols, runes moving through datastreams. The Undercroft is where that claim is physical. Sacred Protocol's liturgies were compiled here. The runes Midnight Runes casts into the datastream route through this stone. When Choral Wrath's processed choirs surface in the mix above, this is the room they reverberated in first.
The violet current in the floor runs north too. Through the Skuldr Accord, the Undercroft trades signal with the iron plateau, rune for rune, and the northern geometry shows in the newest carvings. The Architecture has never mapped this level. Not because it cannot dig, but because its scanners classify the chant as noise. That misclassification is the oldest protection the Network has.
Processed chants with deep reverb. Glass bells over low static. Steps on wet stone, and a pulse beating from beneath everything. One hour inside the temple-circuit, synthwave for whoever keeps the vigil.
